On July 13, fashion magazine DAZED Korea shared a behind-the-scenes video of its upcoming August issue on social media. The magazine jokingly captioned the post: “Anyone who dares to interrupt the filming of the August edition… will have to face him.”
He continued by referring to Lee Sung Min’s latest role: “Minister of Education Choi Kang Seok, played by Lee Sung Min, has arrived at DAZED’s photo shoot. Anyone who interferes with his filming will be dealt with thoroughly.”
While the playful caption garnered attention, it was Lee Sung Min’s striking appearance that quickly became the biggest talking point.
In the released footage, Lee Sung Min effortlessly modeled a variety of trendy looks, including a cardigan, pleated skirt, and light blue shirt. His noticeably sharper jawline, slimmer physique, and thin facial features immediately caught the attention of viewers, making him appear significantly different from his usual image.
Many fans admitted they had to look twice before realizing it was the award-winning actor. The dramatic transformation quickly sparked discussion online.
Some fans praised Lee Sung Min’s professionalism and commitment to his craft, applauding his willingness to undergo such a major physical change for a role. Others, however, expressed concern about his health, commenting that he looked good “too thin” and hoping he would take care of himself during filming. Many also noted that, despite the weight loss, the actor looked noticeably younger and more elegant.

Lee Sung Min previously revealed the reason for his weight loss during an appearance on the YouTube variety show Pinggyego in April. The actor said he intentionally lost around 10 kilograms to prepare for his role in the upcoming film Hymn to my father 2.
Known for completely immersing himself in each character, Lee Sung Min has built a reputation as one of South Korea’s most respected actors, often undergoing significant transformations to deliver authentic performances.
In addition to filming Hymn to my father 2Lee Sung Min recently appeared in the Netflix series I’ll teach you a lessonportraying Education Minister Choi Kang Seok.
His latest transformation once again highlights the veteran actor’s commitment to bringing realism to every role, even when it requires a challenging physical change.
