The beloved cast of Goblin reunited for a heartwarming and hilarious celebration of the drama’s 10th anniversary, with Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na reminiscing about their unforgettable experience together.
Airing on July 12, the special episode saw the four stars look back at the drama that became a global phenomenon as they shared candid stories, playful banter and thoughts on working together again.
One of the highlights of the episode was a lively Yutnori match, where Gong Yoo teamed with Yoo In Na against Kim Go Eun and Lee Dong Wook. The losing team was tasked with washing the dishes. After securing victory, Gong Yoo dramatically lay down on the floor to celebrate, exclaiming, “Isn’t Yutnori the greatest game ever?”
Meanwhile, Kim Go Eun and Lee Dong Wook silently headed to the kitchen to carry out their punishment, while Yoo In Na affectionately gave Lee Dong Wook a shoulder massage while washing the dishes.
Once everyone gathered again, the cast surprised Kim Go Eun by celebrating the 14th anniversary of her debut. As Kim Go Eun blew out the candles, Gong Yoo recreated one of her signature romantic moments by appearing behind her, prompting laughter from everyone. The group also read a touching message from a Goblin fan asking if Gong Yoo considers himself a “good man.”
Yoo In Na responded warmly, “He is a good person and a good man. Back then, I liked that Gong Yoo was like a big brother because he was handsome and nice. Now I admire him because he has become a really mature adult.”
Kim Go Eun quickly interrupted him with a snide remark, “You never know what he’s really like once you meet him.” Lee Dong Wook added, “Being a good man and being a good person are not necessarily the same thing.”
Kim Go Eun then jokingly defended Gong Yoo in her own way. “With a face like his, he’s already quite thoughtful. Considering his height and popularity, he’s doing quite well.” His playful comment made everyone laugh.
Afterward, the four actors enjoyed a bike ride before stopping at a gift shop to pick out matching friendship mementos. The reunion also discovered a funny story from Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook’s military days. Lee Dong Wook revealed, “During my military service, I was a private while he was a sergeant. I’m just saying this now, but I washed all of Gong Yoo’s underwear and socks.”
Gong Yoo laughed as he remembered, “You even folded my underwear with perfect precision.” Lee Dong Wook couldn’t help but joke, “I basically raised him.” The confession made the entire cast burst into laughter.
Later, Yoo In Na asked what kind of project everyone would want to work on together if they reunited on another drama. Without hesitation, Gong Yoo replied, “A completely messy love story.”
Yoo In Na imagined a realistic love story between a longtime couple who constantly argue.
Lee Dong Wook joked, “How could we fight more than we already do? Imagine if there were no cameras.” Kim Go Eun laughed and added, “This is exactly what I want to capture. I want people to see how well we fight.”
When Gong Yoo reiterated that she wanted to star in a passionate love story full of complicated relationships, Kim Go Eun immediately rejected the idea. “I don’t like this kind of drama because I would have to go on a diet. I would have to take my clothes off.”
Lee Dong Wook jokingly asked, “Do you absolutely have to do the bed scenes?” Kim Go Eun responded without missing a beat, “Of course! Otherwise what? Would you just kiss?”
Gong Yoo ended the conversation with another joke that made the cast laugh: “Anyone, feel free to call me.”
