On April 27, IOI’s agency Swing Entertainment announced that the tracklist for IOI’s third mini album, IOI: LOOP, was released at midnight via the group’s official social media channels.
The title track has been confirmed as “Suddenly,” a synth-pop song with lyrics co-written by Jeon Somi. According to the agency, the track stands out for its nostalgic lyrics that revisit past memories and its dynamic progression in the second half.
Other members also took part in the creation of the album’s tracks. Jeon Somi contributed to the pop dance track “IOI (Where My Girls At)”, while Yoo Yeonjung participated in the rock-influenced track “IF I”. Meanwhile, Chungha worked on the ballad “Us Then, Us Now”, which is described as a continuation of the narrative of IOI’s previous song “Downpour”.
The album will also include “SPF 100+ (Summer Pop Fantasy),” an Afrobeat-inspired track. The final song, “Goodbye With a Smile”, was produced by Park Jin Young and features archived recordings of the members’ voices from their 2016 debut.
This comeback brings together nine members: Lim Nayoung, Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon and Jeon Somi. Originally debuting in May 2016 and disbanding after about seven months of promotions, the group is reuniting to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The comeback schedule was also revealed. A pre-release track will be released on May 4th, followed by the official release of the third mini album on May 19th at 6pm. From May 29th to 31st, IOI will kick off their Asian tour with a solo concert held at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.
