On June 16, Shin Min Ah met for an interview in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, to discuss her new suspense thriller The Eyes, directed by Yeom Ji Ho.
The actress takes on a challenging dual role in the film, playing twin sisters Seo Jin and Seo In. Seo Jin is a photographer who gradually loses her sight due to a hereditary disease, while Seo In is the twin sister whose mysterious death sets in motion the story’s central investigation.
Reflecting on the film’s upcoming release, Shin Min Ah admitted to feeling nervous and excited. “It’s been a long time since a movie was released, so I was very nervous and curious how the audience would react. After the premiere yesterday, a lot of people watched the movie in advance and seemed to enjoy it. The atmosphere was very celebratory, which made me happy.”
She also confessed that, after seeing the film several times during production, it became difficult for her to evaluate it objectively. “I have seen this project so many times before the premiere that I have lost my objectivity. As an actress, I notice things that I wish I had done differently, so it is difficult for me to focus on the film solely as a spectator.”
One of the most talked about moments of the VIP premiere was Kim Woo Bin’s appearance in support of his wife. The actor gained attention after attending the event and later sharing photos and videos of Shin Min Ah on his personal social media account. Fans especially loved seeing him photograph his wife at the event, showing the couple’s affectionate relationship.
Shin Min Ah revealed that although she asked him to attend the premiere, she never pressured him to post anything online. “Actually, The Eyes was filmed before our wedding, so I didn’t necessarily consider it my first project after the wedding. Kim Woo Bin came to the premiere yesterday. I felt a little uncomfortable, but I was very grateful and reassured by his presence.” She continued, “I asked him to come to the premiere and told him I wanted him there. Even though he’s busy filming his next project, he found time to attend thanks to my request.”
However, he laughed when addressing social media posts that have attracted widespread attention. “The photos and videos of me that he uploaded to his personal account were not something I strongly requested or forced him to do.”
According to Shin Min Ah, Kim Woo Bin also offered encouraging feedback after watching the film. “He told me he liked it. He knows how hard I worked and how worried I was about this project. He said, ‘I don’t think you need to worry,’ which was very comforting.” After sharing his support, Kim Woo Bin reportedly went straight back to filming his project. Shin Min Ah added with a smile, “I’ve been busy lately too, so it’s been a while since I last saw him.”
