April 22, New Jeans Hyein I contacted fans in a deeply personal way, publishing handwritten letters on the occasion of his birthday, despite being currently on pause due to legal conflicts with his agency.
Hyein uploaded several photos to Mhdhh_friends Account shares with other members of Newjeans Minji, Hanni, Danielle and Haerin. Next to the snapshots of herself, he shared notes expressing gratitude to the fans who celebrated his special day.
“I tried to write short letters to the bunnies (our name Fandom)”, Hyein subtitled the post, referring to the name of Newjeans’ official fandom.
To a fan, he wrote, “Thanks for looking at me as a person and giving me advice. He really helped me to relieve some charges and worries in my heart.” To another, he expressed, “Reading your letter gave me more courage.” Each note reflected a profound sincerity and appreciation.
Hyein also included a message addressed to “All bunnies.” He thanked the fans for the birthday wishes, adding, “Each letter was a great source of comfort and strength. I really wanted to answer everyone.”
He also expressed concern about the fact that some fans could feel injured if they had not received a personal answer and ask them not to be too angry, saying, “I consider all our equally precious supporters.” He concluded by calling him a truly significant birthday thanks to their love and encouragement.
Hyein’s sincere gesture arrives in a turbulent moment for the group. In November last year, Newjeans tried to leave Ador for trust and renamed NJz. However, Ador presented legal actions to support their contracts and block independent activities. The court sided with Ador, stopping the group’s promotions. Newjeans’ appeal has been rejected and the case remains in the revision phase, leaving their future uncertain.
Among the legal tensions and the forced break, Hyein’s letters served as a touching reminder of the strong link between idols and fans. His messages were a quiet but powerful statement of appreciation, warmth and resilience.
