On June 19, the YouTube channel “ENA” uploaded a video titled “A Blowjob After a Career Break? Yulhee’s First Honest Confession.”
During the interview, Yulhee referred to the label “female cam streamer,” a term often used online to describe women who host live broadcasts.
“I live stream and viewers and fans ask me, ‘Wouldn’t people who stream like this be called female streamers?’” Yulhee explained. “I just said, ‘Well, I’m a woman, so I guess that makes me a female streamer.’ Then the headlines came out saying, “Yulhee changes career to become a female streamer.” Because there are a lot of stereotypes associated with that term, people started seeing me through that lens.
He made it clear that his broadcasts primarily focus on interacting with viewers.
“My content is mainly about communication” he said. “I talk to spectators and lately I’ve been playing old games with fans.”
Yulhee also revealed how much time she spends streaming.
“I usually stream seven to eight hours at a time. The longest stream I’ve done was 30 hours.” he said. “I sit in front of the camera, eat snacks, eat, brush my teeth and sometimes even fall asleep for five minutes.”
Contrary to her expectations, Yulhee said she hasn’t encountered much negativity from viewers.
“I was actually the one with strong preconceptions” he admitted. “I thought about doing it for two years before I started. Actually, there were a lot of people cheering me on, and fans who hadn’t seen me for a long time were happy to see me again. I didn’t really feel those stereotypes until the articles came out.”
Yulhee also spoke openly about the difficult time she experienced after divorcing FT Island member Choi Min-hwan.
“After the divorce my career stopped completely” he said. “I became someone who always stayed at home. Even before I didn’t go out much, but then I isolated myself completely. I barely checked my messages and I isolated myself even more.”
She recalled that the CEO of her agency eventually suggested she seek professional help.
“The CEO of my company carefully asked me if I would consider consulting,” Yulhee shared. “I didn’t even realize how serious my condition had become.”
He then revealed the extent of his mental health problems.
“I was dealing with severe depression, anxiety and social phobia,” he said honestly.
