On the May 15 broadcast of KBS2’s Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, singer Kim Jae Joong invited his close friends Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Yoo Seon Ho to his house, where they openly discussed marriage and relationships.
The episode attracted attention because Kim Jae Joong, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Choi Jin Hyuk were all born in 1986. However, since Yoon Shi Yoon was born in September, he naturally called Kim Jae Joong and Choi Jin Hyuk “hyung (big brother).”
Even after Kim Jae Joong told him he could speak casually, Yoon Shi Yoon jokingly drew a firm line, saying, “Being the youngest is more advantageous in social life,” causing everyone to burst into laughter.
The conversation naturally turned to marriage. Choi Jin Hyuk confessed, “My mother doesn’t nag me about marriage, but she nags me about everything else,” before adding, “I think she doesn’t even like me dating. It’s almost like she doesn’t want me to get married.”
Kim Jae Joong strongly related to the comment, saying, “If you live with your mother, you can’t date. And if you don’t date, you can’t get married. Moms are like bunkers.”
Choi Jin Hyuk immediately agreed, replying, “It’s really difficult to meet someone.”
She then made everyone laugh by revealing, “Every time I talk to someone on the phone, my mom listens to the entire conversation. The next day, I heard her repeat my conversation with my friend while I was talking to one of her friends.”
Yoon Shi Yoon, who previously shared that she has no plans to get married within the next four years, also nodded in agreement and said, “My mother also tells me to get married, but deep down I think she actually doesn’t like the idea.”
The actor then shocked everyone by sharing a memorable story from one of his past dates.
Yoon Shi Yoon explained, “Once I was going on a date with my girlfriend and asked my mother to drop me off near the station while I was traveling in her car.”
However, instead of stopping, her mother allegedly drove straight past the station.
He continued: “I said, ‘Mom, I told you to let me go,’ but suddenly she shouted, ‘I don’t know!’ while I grip the steering wheel and cry loudly.
Kim Jae Joong jokingly responded, “So the bottom line is that you won’t get married because of your mother?”
Yoon Shi Yoon then honestly admitted with a laugh, “Honestly, yes, it’s because of my mother.”
Choi Jin Hyuk also sympathized, saying, “Honestly, this is a huge reason for me too.”
Since both actors are only children, Yoon Shi Yoon jokingly analyzed the situation by saying, “Mothers see their children as the only place to rely on,” causing another wave of laughter in the studio.
