‘Teach You a Lesson’ knocks ‘The Glory’ out of Netflix’s top 5 Korean series

“Teach You a Lesson” has officially become one of Netflix’s biggest Korean hits after surpassing “The Glory” on the platform’s all-time ranking for Korean original series.

According to Netflix Tudum’s weekly chart from June 22 to 28, “Teach You a Lesson” ranked first in the global top 10 non-English TV shows for the fourth consecutive week. The series garnered 7.3 million views for the week, continuing its strong performance since its release on June 5.

The drama has now amassed 46.6 million total views worldwide. Netflix measures viewership by dividing total hours watched by the length of a show. The series also surpassed 498.9 million hours of viewing, demonstrating its growing popularity in multiple countries, Zapzee reported.

With the latest numbers, “Teach You a Lesson” has officially pushed “The Glory” out of the top five rankings of Netflix’s Korean original series. “The Glory” previously held fifth place with 39.7 million views.

Currently, the top three positions remain occupied by the Squid Game franchise. Season 1 leads with 265.2 million views, followed by Season 2 with 192.6 million and Season 3 with 145.8 million views. All of Us Are Dead is currently in fourth place with 55.5 million views.

“Teach You a Lesson” continues to have strong global flow

At the current rate, “Teach You a Lesson” is expected to continue climbing the charts. According to AllKPop, the series needs about 6.6 million more views to surpass “All of Us Are Dead.”

The show’s weekly growth has remained stable since launch. It recorded 6.4 million views in the first week, followed by 21.1 million in the second week, 11.8 million in the third and 7.3 million in the fourth.

Starring Kim Moo Yul and Lee Sung Min, the drama is based on a webtoon of the same name. The story follows members of a fictional government agency created to protect the rights of teachers and help victims deal with problems within the education system.

The series performed well worldwide, reaching the Netflix Top 10 in 75 countries and regions. It also reached number one in several markets, including Hong Kong, Japan and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, other Korean stocks also continued to perform well globally. “Agent Kim Reactivated” ranked third on Netflix’s non-English TV chart with 6.6 million views, while “Brave New World” and “Notes from the Bottom Line” also remained in the Top 10.
