On June 27, posts began circulating in online communities and social media from people claiming to have unexpectedly met NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein in the United States. A fan uploaded a short video with the caption: “A Chance Encounter with NewJeans”, explaining that they had run into Haerin and Hyein while they were abroad.
The video shows Hyein face to face with Haerin as the two chat casually. Hyein can be seen smiling sweetly during the conversation, while Haerin is only visible from behind. Several staff members with cameras were also present, leading fans to speculate that the pair may have filmed content.
This is not the first time Haerin and Hyein have been spotted abroad. In April, several social media users reported seeing the two members in Copenhagen, Denmark, with photos and eyewitness accounts quickly spreading online.
At the time, fans initially believed that only Haerin and Hyein had traveled to Denmark. However, it was later confirmed that colleague Hanni had also joined the trip. ADOR later acknowledged that NewJeans members had indeed visited Copenhagen together with staff members.
Meanwhile, NewJeans continues to deal with the fallout from its legal dispute with the agency.
Last December, ADOR filed a lawsuit for damages reportedly worth around KRW 43.1 billion against Danielle, her family members, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, among others.
According to reports, Haerin, Hyein and Hanni are currently preparing to resume activities with ADOR. Member Minji is also said to be in positive discussions with the agency regarding his future promotional plans.
