Actress Lee Da-hee got emotional during a recent episode of You are single under the same rooftalking about the unexpected challenges of living with friends and the bittersweet feelings she felt after finding herself alone in an empty house.
The May 29 broadcast showed Lee Da-hee enjoying a rare solo moment after her housemates temporarily left the shared house.
While other cast members Jang Keun-suk, Ahn Jae-hyun, and Kyung Soo-jin went to Japan, and Jang Do-yeon and Choi Daniel left for work hours, Lee Da-hee was the only person left at Gugidong’s house.
Taking advantage of the calm atmosphere, he spent time exercising and stretching before indulging in beer and snacks. She then headed to a coin-operated karaoke lounge, where she sang a variety of songs from different genres.
However, while performing a ballad, Lee Da-hee suddenly burst into tears, surprising both viewers and the production team.
Reflecting on the emotional moment during a later interview, Lee Da-hee admitted that she wasn’t able to pinpoint exactly why she felt overwhelmed.
“I can’t really explain it, but I started crying.” he shared.
The actress explained that although she only spent about half of the show’s filming period living with her roommates, the experience became deeply meaningful to her.“It was such a happy and fun time, but when you live together, it can’t always be perfect,” he said.
Lee Da-hee went on to reveal that sharing a living space with others brought a level of emotional tension that she hadn’t anticipated.
According to the actress, everyone involved had spent years living independently, making it difficult at times to adapt to the habits and lifestyle of others. “We’ve all been living our own lives for a long time. Having to be respectful of each other and fit in while living in the same space was probably more stressful than I thought.” he confessed.
She added that the experience was completely new to her and compared it to the adjustment period that many married couples go through. “It’s the first time I’ve experienced something like this. Married couples need time to adjust to each other and I think friendships are the same thing.”
Although she acknowledges the challenges of living together, Lee Da-hee admitted that being left alone in the house made her realize how attached she had become to her housemates.
“When everyone left and I was the only one there, the house felt empty,” he said.
The actress explained that a wave of emotions hit her all at once as she reflected on the time they spent together. “Coexistence is definitely not easy. But when I think of having to say goodbye to these friends I get a strange feeling.”
