On the May 3 broadcast of SBS My old manseveral first generation idols will reunite to celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary of HOT’s debut. The episode will feature HOT’s Tony An and Moon Hee-joon, Sechs Kies’ Jang Su-won and Dio’s Park Joon-hyung.
Kangnam, who appears as a special MC in the studio, reportedly gets emotional seeing the 4 legendary idols together, saying it’s great to see them gathered in one place. HOT debuted in 1996 and have become one of the biggest idol groups in Korean pop history. During the episode, Tony An and Moon Hee-joon will look back at the explosive “HOT syndrome,” including the period when the group became big enough to appear in the news.
They will also share stories about how some schools have allegedly issued “no early leaving” notices due to HOT’s popularity. Jang Su-won will also reveal that Sechs Kies once appeared in the news due to a serious incident that occurred during the group’s last concert before disbanding. The full story of the accident will be revealed on the broadcast. The idols will also perform spontaneous dances to their hit songs, impressing viewers with their undiminished skills before making everyone laugh while quickly running out of energy.
During the episode, Park Joon-hyung makes a bold comment about idol dating culture. He says, “Idols could date because of me,” referring to his famous public dating controversy of the early 2000s. Park Joon-hyung had previously attracted great attention for his relationship with actress Han Go-eun. After their relationship became public, he reportedly faced conflict with his agency and was even at risk of being removed by God

He later held an official press conference, where he tearfully defended himself by saying: “I’m 32, okay? If you’re 32, you should have a girlfriend.” The clip remains one of the most legendary moments in K-pop idol history and is still often referenced online.
The cast members will also talk about how the idols secretly dated each other despite their busy schedules. Tony An, in particular, will reveal how he managed to hang out privately within the stations during his HOT days, as well as the secret places he used for dates. Moon Hee-joon reportedly reacts with betrayal after hearing the story, saying: “This is the first time I’ve heard this.”
