TV CHOSUN’s “Doctor Shin,” written by Im Sung Han, is finally showing signs of recovery just before its finale. After hovering between 0 and 1%, the drama recently rose to 2.2%, marking its highest rating since its premiere.
The late growth reflects the growing curiosity around its increasingly intense plot. Known for her unconventional and often polarizing narratives, Im Sung Han once again leans into taboo themes, this time combining the concept of “brain change” with twisted romance and human desire.

At the center of the final arc is the emotionally charged reunion between Ahn Woo Yeon and Joo Se Bin. Their characters, long involved in a complicated relationship, finally come face to face in what the production team describes as a moment when “even the air seems frozen.”
Ahn Woo Yeon plays a man overcome with remorse and desire, while Joo Se Bin offers a stark contrast with his cold and distant demeanor. The change in his character – first emotional, now detached – creates a suffocating tension that defines the final stretch of the drama.

Episode 14 has already raised the stakes with dramatic developments: the birth of Geum Bara’s son, the revelation of her biological family, and her sudden reappearance after disappearing. These twists pushed the narrative into its most suspenseful phase, attracting more attention online and in the buzz charts.
While “Doctor Shin” struggled early on, its final episodes demonstrate a familiar pattern in Im Sung Han’s works: slow starts followed by explosive, conversation-provoking climaxes.
With only one episode left, the focus now turns to how these tangled relationships and bold themes will ultimately resolve themselves.
