Can Hyeri’s new romantic drama “Dream to You” break ENA’s record as “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”?

Premiering on July 13, the new Monday-Tuesday drama stars Hwang In Youp and Hyeri in a story that combines first love, reunion and the struggles of young adults who have lost sight of their dreams.

Dream to You follows Woo Soo Bin and Joo Yi Jae, who dreamed of their future and fell in love as teenagers. Fifteen years later, they find themselves with very different lives. Hwang In Youp plays Woo Soo Bin, a talented director who has successfully realized his dream of becoming a director. Despite his professional success, he has never forgotten his first love, Joo Yi Jae, and eventually returns to visit her.

Hyeri plays Joo Yi Jae, a hardworking journalist who gave up on her dream due to difficult circumstances. Soo Bin’s sudden return awakens emotions and memories he had buried for years.

In the teaser, Soo Bin tells her, “I missed you, Joo Yi Jae.” Another scene shows Yi Jae saying, “I will give you back the dream I took away from you,” raising questions about the unfinished story between them.

Hwang In Youp said that the emotions of first love and the process of rediscovering a forgotten dream attracted him to the project. “The feelings created by first love and the journey to find a dream that had been forgotten attracted me,” she shared.

Hyeri also praised the drama’s structure, which moves between the characters’ past and present. “I found the structure of the story interesting and thought it was a coming-of-age story that a lot of people could relate to,” he said. The published posters and photos highlight the couple’s youthful chemistry, showing their relationship from their school years to adulthood.

The production is led by a director behind Trigger and The Uncanny Counter, while the screenplay is by a writer who has participated in projects including Goblin, Mr. Sunshine and Doom at Your Service. Dream to You will premiere on July 13 at 10pm KST on ENA and will also be available via KT Genie TV and TVING.
