According to the former trainee, who recently came forward more than a year after completing his service, BTS’ V left a lasting impression on those around him during basic training and during his time in the military.
The story gained attention after V recalled his military days during a recent Weverse live broadcast with his fellow BTS members.
During the livestream, V recalled attending a Catholic mass with other interns, where one intern was asked his first name. Instead of giving a traditional answer, the intern responded in a humorous way by naming famous League of Legends characters, saying: “I like Mordekaiser, Miss Fortune and Lux,” causing laughter from everyone present.
After the broadcast, one of V’s former training camp buddies revealed more behind-the-scenes stories from that time.
The former trainee explained that the news of the enlistment of two BTS members had become a major topic of conversation at the time and that he happened to be assigned to the same platoon as V.
He recalled that V offered the other trainees premium Korean beef as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work, earning him the admiration of those around him.
The partner also shared memories of attending a church Christmas musical with V during training. After the show, many attendees hoped to say hello to the BTS star. According to the witness, V initially kept a low profile and quietly bowed his head as he left, but eventually waved to the crowd, prompting enthusiastic applause.
The former comrade spoke highly of V’s character, particularly his role as platoon leader during training.
Describing the singer as someone who naturally brought people together, he said V was one “kind, positive and always guided others in the right direction.” He also noted that the BTS member possessed a playful personality while remaining thoughtful and thoughtful towards everyone around him.
The testimony echoed numerous accounts shared by fellow soldiers during V’s military service.
V enlisted on December 11, 2023, and completed his service in the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the Military Police under the 2nd Corps of the Republic of Korea Army after completing basic training.
During his service, several fellow soldiers reportedly praised V for providing meals to both the elderly and young, for donating sports equipment, and for offering emotional support to those around him.
Many describe him as someone they can comfortably turn to for advice in difficult times.

Even after his discharge, V continued to demonstrate his loyalty. Previous reports had revealed that he returned to his former unit about 40 days after leaving the military to celebrate the discharge of a young soldier he had served with, a gesture that further cemented his reputation for caring for those around him.
As these stories continue to emerge, fans once again highlight V’s humble personality and the positive impact he had on his fellow soldiers during his time in the military.
