BTS created huge excitement in Mexico City after meeting Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the presidential palace.
On May 7 KST, BTS members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook visited the presidential palace at the invitation of President Sheinbaum.
After a brief meeting with the president, the members appeared on the balcony of the presidential office to greet the thousands of fans gathered at the Zócalo. The area surrounding downtown Mexico City has reportedly filled with fans eager to see the global superstars.
V greeted the audience in Spanish on behalf of the group, while Jungkook and the other members also shared short messages with fans.
Meanwhile, Jimin and SUGA uploaded photos and videos of the huge crowd to their personal social media accounts, thanking fans for the warm welcome.
Earlier this year, President Sheinbaum had already expressed enthusiasm for BTS’s planned concerts in Mexico City, calling the event a “historical moment”. He also reportedly requested additional concert dates due to huge demand.

After meeting the group, President Sheinbaum posted photos with BTS on social media along with a welcome message.
“We are happy to welcome one of the most beloved groups of Mexico’s young generations. Their music and values connect Mexico and Korea,” he wrote.
BTS is currently set to hold theirs BTS World Tour ARIRANG concerts at the Estadio GNP Seguros on 7, 9 and 10 May. All tickets would be sold out immediately after sales opened.
