BTS Jungkook Almost Performed at the Super Bowl: Here’s Why It Didn’t Happen

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the members of BTS revealed a surprising behind-the-scenes story: Jungkook was actually invited to perform on one of the biggest stages in the world.

According to RM, global R&B superstar Usher personally invited Jungkook to join the group Super Bowl halftime show before his military enlistment. “He almost made it” shared RM, suggesting how close the opportunity was to materializing.

However, timing proved to be the biggest obstacle. As his mandatory military service approached, Jungkook finally had to turn down the once-in-a-lifetime offer.

Jungkook himself addressed the situation truthfully, revealing both his desire and his frustration. “I want to do it, but first you have to be invited” he said, subtly acknowledging how rare and selective the opportunity is.

The moment reportedly came up when talking about Bad Bunny, who was the protagonist of the Super Bowl 2026 halftime show, sparking renewed curiosity as to why BTS had yet to take that stage.

Despite the missed opportunity, BTS has made it clear that they won’t give up on their dream.

During the same interview, the group reflected on the hiatus, growth and the upcoming album “ARIRANG”. RM described the project as an answer to the question: “What is BTS in 2026?” a statement that hints at a bold new era.

The members also highlighted their renewed bond and determination to continue evolving musically, with Suga stressing the importance of enjoying the journey rather than focusing solely on the results.

THE Super Bowl halftime show it remains one of the most prestigious performance platforms in the world and for BTS it is clearly unfinished business.
