aespa has created one of the most talked about K-pop collaborations of the year. The SM Entertainment girl group released “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” on May 11, featuring BIGBANG’s G-Dragon – and the internet hasn’t stopped talking about it since.

The hip-hop-based dance track is driven by heavy synth bass and an addictive hook, with G-Dragon contributing both a featured verse and writing credits on his rap. Fans reacted online in near disbelief, with comments like “G-Dragon’s presence on an Aespa track is crazy” and “this collaboration is already legendary” flooding social media.

“WDA” entered the top 10 of the iTunes Top Songs charts in 17 countries, including Thailand, Portugal, Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia, upon its release.

The single serves as the lead pre-release track of aespa’s second full-length album LEMONADEreleasing May 29 via SM Entertainment. The 10-track album spans electronic dance, hip-hop, rock and pop R&B – the group’s broadest musical range to date. aespa will follow the release with their COMPLæXITY World Tour, which kicks off on August 7 in Seoul.
