BTS’ “ARIRANG” Surpasses 3.8 Billion Streams in Just 8 Weeks

BTS has once again proven their global influence after the group’s fifth album, ARIRANG, recorded 3.8 billion streams in just eight weeks.

According to global music data firm Luminate, the album reached the milestone between March 20 and May 14 on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music. The achievement comes as BTS returns as a full group for the first time in more than three years, also launching their new world tour.

The group’s overall musical catalog also saw major growth over the same period. Luminate reported that total streams for all BTS songs have surpassed 5.3 billion worldwide, showing strong interest not only in the new album but also in the group’s previous releases.

One reason the numbers stood out was BTS’s balanced popularity across different regions. Latin America accounted for 27% of the album’s total streams, followed by Northeast Asia at 17%, North America at 14%, Southeast Asia at 13% and Europe at 12%, AllKPop reported.

A representative for BigHit Music said the findings demonstrate that BTS’ music is “consumed evenly across major global markets rather than being concentrated in a specific region.”

The album tracks also performed well on their own. The title song SWIM became the first song released in 2026 to surpass 500 million Spotify streams. B-side tracks Body to Body and Hooligan each crossed 200 million streams, while each song on the 14-track album surpassed 100 million streams.

BTS dominates physical album sales in the United States

Physical album sales also remained impressive. BTS ranked first in physical album sales in the United States after selling more than 810,000 copies ARIRANGincluding CDs and vinyl records. The figure was reportedly four times higher than the sales recorded by the second and third place artists combined.

Luminate’s survey also showed increased fan loyalty compared to 2021. According to AJP, approximately 26% of respondents were classified as highly engaged fans, 15% said they felt emotionally connected to BTS, and 9% identified themselves as superfans.

Interest from casual listeners has also increased. The survey found that 44% of respondents viewed BTS positively, while 32% identified themselves as listening to the group’s music.

Luminate added that BTS continues to attract new audiences despite K-pop still being a smaller genre among the general public. The report found that 38% of BTS listeners identify as Hispanic or Latino.

BigHit Music said the results show that BTS is “maintaining the loyalty of its existing fan base while attracting new consumers and expanding its mainstream audience.” BTS will continue their journey ARIRANG world tour with concerts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on 6 and 7 July.
