Joshua, a member of SEVENTEEN, gave a speech at a UNESCO commemorative ceremony held at the main hall of UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France on the 25th (local time) for the global youth support program “Going Together”.
He said, “We continue to move forward together,” adding that “SEVENTEEN, who shared a dream for over 10 years as 13 members, also went through uncertainty. However, we were able to move forward with mutual trust and the belief that together we will be stronger.” He continued: “We promised to continue moving forward as one team.”
Joshua also addressed young people around the world, saying: “I can see a beautiful synergy in all of you too. Each of you is walking your own path through different regions and cultures. Although your challenges may differ, we are on the same path in the sense that we are all working towards a better world. So let’s continue moving forward together.”
On this day, Joshua attended the event representing SEVENTEEN as UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassadors under UNESCO. The ceremony marked the conclusion of the Going Together – For Youth Creativity & Well-Being program and the announcement of increased support for exceptional groups.
Dressed in a black suit, Joshua gave a six-minute speech in English. He said he was honored to be there and added that members also wanted to participate. He recalled that when SEVENTEEN was appointed as a Youth Goodwill Ambassador, both the group and UNESCO shared the belief in empowering young people to lead change.
She described Going Together as a program that provides resources, mentorship and opportunities for young people to turn their ideas into meaningful change. He added that the passion and creativity of the young people deeply moved the group, leading them to expand their support.

SEVENTEEN has already contributed $1 million (approximately KRW 1.51 billion) to establish a global youth fund when it was appointed as a UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassador in 2024. The fund supports projects related to youth creativity, resilience, mental health and community development through music, arts and sports.
Joshua highlighted that young people already have the answers to change the world and said: “They just need someone to believe in them.” He added that SEVENTEEN also faced similar challenges and stressed the importance of “trust” and “unity”. At the end of his speech, the audience responded with loud applause and cheers.
SEVENTEEN will continue its activities as UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassadors.
