Rain revealed her strict parenting philosophy regarding her two daughters during her appearance on the SBS variety show “But seriously!”.
In the episode that aired on May 11, the singer-actor told stories about family life and his dedication as a father.
“For me family always comes first” Rain explained. “Of course I participate in my children’s school sports days.”
She went on to recall a fun tug-of-war competition involving other famous parents, including Baek Ji Young and actor Jung Suk Won.
Rain joked that he and Jung Suk Won were determined to ensure their daughters won.
“We said to ourselves, ‘Our guys absolutely have to win today.'” he said with a laugh. “But once the game started, the other dads were like competitors Physical: 100. Their teamwork was incredible.”
Despite coordination difficulties, Rain said he became so competitive that he wrapped the rope around his hands and pulled with his whole body.
“After we finally won, Jung Suk Won and I celebrated like crazy,” he recalled. “Meanwhile, our daughters were simply eating snacks.”
Rain also spoke warmly about bringing his daughters to his concerts.
When asked if his children know he is a famous singer, he replied: “I bring them to my performances. Even though my body is still healthy and I can still stand on stage with my feet, I want them to see their dad perform. They really love it.”
The conversation then turned to dating and parenting boundaries. Host Lee Sang Min asked Rain how she would react if her daughters introduced boyfriends in the future.
The rain answered firmly, “I’m very clear about it. Dating in middle school or high school is not allowed. They can bring someone over once they become adults.”
He then jokingly claimed that he had never dated during his school years, prompting laughter from everyone on set for what he called a “little white lie”.
Rain married actress Kim Tae Hee in 2017 and the couple is known as one of the highest profile Korean celebrity families.
