According to a report from MyDaily, Signal 2 has been scheduled as a Monday-Tuesday drama on tvN starting November 30, with the eight-episode series airing until December 22.
The sequel was originally slated to celebrate tvN’s 20th anniversary with a release in mid-2026. However, the broadcast was postponed indefinitely following controversy involving lead actor Cho Jin Woong. Earlier this year, tvN publicly stated that the drama’s broadcast schedule was still undecided.

Following the controversy surrounding the actor’s juvenile criminal record, the production reportedly explored several options, including AI-assisted editing and reducing his screen time. Ultimately, the team would choose to release the series with its performance intact.
Cho Jin Woong previously admitted to committing illicit acts during his youth through his agency, saying he committed crimes as a minor more than 30 years ago. The agency apologized, underlining that reconstructing every detail after so many years was difficult because the legal proceedings had long been concluded.
Signal 2 is the sequel to the 2016 drama Signal, which follows detectives from the past and present who communicate through a mysterious radio to solve long-unsolved cases. The original series became one of tvN’s most popular crime dramas and ended with a nationwide viewership rating of 13.4%, according to Nielsen Korea.
The sequel reunites the original main cast: Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo and Cho Jin Woong. Acclaimed screenwriter Kim Eun Hee returns to write the sequel, while Ahn Tae Jin serves as director.
Signal 2 reportedly wrapped production in August 2025, with the drama initially slated for release in early 2026. However, the program was put on hold after revelations regarding Jo Jin Woong’s past triggered widespread controversy. In April, tvN officially said the drama’s broadcast schedule remained undecided as it reviewed its options.
According to the latest report from MyDaily, the network has now decided to move forward with the November 30 premiere, although tvN has not yet officially confirmed the new broadcast date.
