On May 5, CLASS:y uploaded a video titled “CLASS:y’s 4th Anniversary Exposé: Members Reveal Each Other’s Secrets” to its official YouTube channel, where members shared untold stories about their time together.
Member Jimin introduced the story first, explaining that the fire happened shortly after their debut.
“When we first debuted, there was a fire in our dorm. This is not a funny story; it was a really dangerous situation,” he said.
Seonyou later recalled the scary moment in detail: “After school, we were sleeping when I suddenly smelled something burning. When I opened my eyes, everything was pitch black. I thought I had entered the afterlife. The black smoke was actually ash, and the bathroom was on fire.”
He immediately alerted the other members, helping them evacuate safely.
Hyeju also shared her memory of the incident, revealing how she tried to put out the fire.
“It was the first time I had seen a fire. I filled a bowl with water and tried to put it out, but obviously it didn’t work. I told everyone to evacuate and the firefighters arrived soon after,” he explained.
The group safely exited the building using the emergency stairs as the situation was under control.
Despite the scary experience, the story took a fun turn.
Seonyou revealed that the members had secretly ordered fried chicken that day but were worried about getting caught during their debut period.
“We hid the chicken in the dishwasher. After everything was taken care of, we went to the emergency stairs and ate it,” he laughs.
CLASS:y debuted on May 5, 2022, with their first mini album CLASS IS OVER. The group continues to share behind-the-scenes stories with fans as they celebrate their anniversary and reflect on their journey from debut to the present.
