Jeongyeon got emotional while talking about her older sister, actress Gong Seung Yeon, during a preview of tvN’s popular variety show Take the block quiz.
On May 6, the show unveiled a teaser featuring the famous sisters ahead of their upcoming guest appearance. During the preview, Gong Seung Yeon discussed his recent popularity through the MBC drama Perfect crown.
Jeongyeon proudly shared her support for her sister, saying, “I’m so happy that my sister is doing well these days.”
However, the TWICE member quickly became emotional as he recalled a difficult period in his life.
“It was a time when I was struggling a lot mentally,” she said before suddenly crying and admitting, “I’m getting emotional.”
The preview quickly caught the attention of fans, many of whom sympathized with Jeongyeon’s past health issues and praised the close bond between the sisters.
Jeongyeon previously underwent surgery for a herniated disc in 2020. During the recovery process, she experienced side effects from steroid medications, which reportedly led to Cushing’s syndrome and sudden weight gain.
Since then, Jeongyeon has continued to manage her health through consistent exercise and care. After returning to activities with TWICE, she received support from fans to maintain stable health and actively participate in performances once again.
