On April 7, Ju Ji Hoon held an interview at ENA headquarters in Sangam-dong, Seoul, where he discussed his role and key moments in the drama. Climax.
Climax follows prosecutor Bang Tae Seop, played by Ju Ji Hoon, as he dives into a powerful cartel in search of the top position in South Korea. The story centers on intense struggles for survival among those trapped in power and ambition.
In the drama series, Ju Ji Hoon plays Bang Tae Seop, a character driven solely by ambition who enters into a strategic marriage with famous actress Chu Sang Ah, played by Ha Ji Won. Their relationship soon attracted attention, particularly due to a racy bathroom kissing scene.
Speaking about the scene, Ju Ji Hoon said, “Cinematically, it really wasn’t that provocative.” He added, “It was just a simple moment of our lips touching, but when I saw it on the broadcast, it was much more intense.”
He explained that the drama was originally intended for a mature audience (19+), but after collaborating with ENA and Genie TV, it was adapted to a rating of 15+. “Even though I expected it, seeing it on television made me feel bolder. It’s all relative,” he said.
“Depending on the platform, the same scene can look very different. In a theater, viewers are mentally prepared, but on TV it can seem more direct,” he added.

Ju Ji Hoon emphasized that the scene did not involve explicit exposure or excessive expression. “Despite this, the reaction was bigger than I expected, which surprised me,” he admitted.
He also reflected on changing viewing habits, noting: “The same setup or scene can be perceived differently depending on the platform. I find myself paying more attention to these differences these days.”
He concluded, “Even scenes that didn’t seem particularly bold when filming can be interpreted differently depending on the viewing environment, and that’s something I’ve come to realize.”
