In the past, Song Hye Kyo appeared on the YouTube channel”Fairy Jaehyung“, where she showed her frank and witty side during the conversation. Host Jung Jae Hyung expressed surprise, saying there was very little interview material about her. Song Hye Kyo responded, “You probably won’t find many interviews outside of when I’m promoting a project.”
When asked why she decided to appear on YouTube, Song Hye Kyo explained that her mindset has changed over time. “These days, I feel like I should try things like this,” he said. “As I get older, I feel grateful when people still show interest in me.” His honest answer surprised many.
She also shared that she has become more relaxed lately. “I have had difficult experiences in life as a woman and as an actress, but I have also had happy moments,” she said. “I think I learned a lot about life through those experiences.”
Thinking back to the sitcom Soonpoong Cliniche revealed that he passed the audition after trying three or four times. “The director didn’t like long pauses, even more than mistakes in lines,” he said. “I was in high school then, so I could memorize the whole script after reading it once. Now, I forget things as soon as I turn around,” he joked, drawing laughter.
Song Hye Kyo also talked about her breakthrough drama Autumn in my heart. He recalled that many people initially objected to his casting because he was from a sitcom.
“People who star in dramas don’t welcome someone who just did a sitcom,” he said. “When I started Autumn in my heartmany people objected. I was only 20 years old and hearing negative comments made me think, “I’ll show them.” I’ll make it work somehow.’”
He then shared a story from the drama’s busy shooting schedule. “We often shot outside Seoul and director Yoon Seok Ho barely slept,” he said. “There was a time when we walked around for three days straight without even having time to wash.”
Song Hye Kyo recalled a scene involving her, Won Bin, and Song Seung Heon. “The director suddenly said to us, ‘You three should go wash.’ We wondered why, but since we hadn’t washed for three days and still had the same makeup on, apparently we looked really messy on the monitor,” he said, making everyone laugh.
He also shared a funny but surprising story about visiting a neighborhood bathhouse. “I went to a local bathhouse and was sitting in the hot water,” she said. “Then an old woman suddenly hit me in the back and said, ‘Eun-suh (Song Hye Kyo’s character in Autumn in my heart) must not die!’”
Song Hye Kyo explained that since she was completely undressed at the time, the situation became even more awkward. “People who didn’t recognize me before suddenly realized who I was,” he said. “So I quickly washed myself and ran out.”
