February 19th, YouTube channel “The President of Entertainment, Lee Jin-ho” uploaded a video discussing Choi Jun Hee’s wedding news and raising concerns about her fiancé. According to the report, Kim remained by Choi Jun Hee’s side for five years, supporting her during difficult times marked by health problems and intense public scrutiny. However, the timeline of their five-year relationship has sparked speculation that it began when Choi Jun Hee was still a minor in high school.
The channel further claimed that Mr Kim was at the center of Choi Jun Hee’s serious conflict with her paternal grandmother, Jung Ok Sook. In July 2023, Choi Jun Hee reported her grandmother to the police on charges of trespassing. A man at the scene reportedly urged Jung Ok Sook to leave saying he had no rights to the house. It is now speculated that the individual is her current boyfriend.
Further concerns stem from a past motorcycle accident during Choi Jun Hee’s high school years. According to a previous interview given by Jung Ok Sook, Choi Jun Hee suffered a broken ankle while riding a motorcycle, and the man traveling with her at the time is suspected to be Mr. Kim. Jung Ok Sook revealed that she paid around KRW 7 million in hospital bills for both her niece and the man, covering the costs through a 10-month installment plan. The revelation has reignited public debate over his role in Choi Jun Hee’s life.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Jung Ok Sook learned of her niece’s wedding not directly from her but through news coverage on YouTube, adding to the sense of estrangement between them. During the recent Lunar New Year holiday, Choi Jun Hee reportedly visited and expressed gratitude to another elderly acquaintance of the family who previously helped with household chores, rather than to her grandmother, further confirming their continued distance.
In addition to the controversy surrounding her fiancé, Choi Jun Hee also faced criticism regarding her wedding photos taken in Japan. Some online users pointed out that the location appeared to be a site associated with glory to it ritual, a memorial ceremony for aborted fetuses. He responded firmly that the location was chosen by the photographer and denied any intentional meaning behind the location.
