Looking back to his career, Jeong has shared that he has often felt the need to stay on television because he supported his companies, admitting that despite the struggle, public recognition helped his work. He recalled long nights and moments of tiredness, but also a determination not to move away from the spotlight.
Speaking of his work in the direction, Jeong revealed that in the early 2000s, his company represented about 20 comedians, including Jung Sun Hee, Kim Jin Soo, Go Myung Hwan, Moon Chun Shik and son Hun Soo. First, together with the colleague member of Sobangcha Kim Tae Hyung, had produced NRG.
However, the sudden death of the youngest member of NRG, Kim Hwan Sung, has changed everything. “After the exit of the first album, one of the members of the NRG died suddenly. It was the sepsis. He had taken the cold, then he had removed his teeth of the judgment, developed an infection and in just three days he was disappeared,” Jeong recalled with pain. The accident led him to take a step back from the management of the entertainment for a while.
Kim Hwan Sung made his debut for the first time in 1996 with the Kkebi Kkebi group before re-debuting with NRG in 1997, where he quickly jumped to celebrity. On June 15, 2000, he died tragically after being hospitalized with cold symptoms. Within three days, his condition deteriorated in high fever and respiratory failure, leaving him dead to the brain before he died in the end. His sudden death in such a young age sent shock waves through the Korean entertainment industry.
After his disappearance, NRG continued promotions as a group of four members.
