On August 12, the officials of the Soul Mapo police station confirmed that the probe derives from a complaint filed last November by the composer A.
The composer claims that YG Entertainment reproduced one of his works without permission, incorporating it into an album and distributing it – an act that supports constitutes a copyright violation.
Second Television relationshipthe song “G-Dragon” which he created was taken by YG Entertainment and G-Dragon and changed in “My age is 13 years old” who ended up on the live album of G-Dragon A light shines under the song “My age is 13 + storm + hip hop gentlemen + g-dragon”.
Investigators have already questioned several people connected to chance. The authorities also performed two separate raids, including research of the YG Entertainment headquarters, to collect evidence.
The police did not reveal further details on the song in question or the potential time sequence to conclude the investigation. YG Entertainment has yet to issue an official declaration that faces the accusations.
Online reactions to the recent cause of copyright violation against G-Dragon have been quick and skeptical, with many fans who question the reasons behind the case. The commentators stressed that the disputes focused on a G -Dragon song recorded for the first time at the age of 13 in 2001, which briefly revisited during a 2009 concert. Since the track was never recorded at the copyright association and was part of a live medley, the Netizen call the times of the cause – presented more than a decade after – suspicious and opportunity.
- Before his debut, G-Dragon participated in the song in 2001 when he was 13 years old, and are now sung to him singing only a few lines at a live concert in 2009? A 2001 song that was not even recorded at the Copyright Association – causing it to it now screams only that the real reason is money. Pathetic.
- [Fact] That concert recording was a live album, so it would not have been recorded at the copyright association. It was an opening stage that mixed three songs – My age is 13 years old, StormAND Gentleman – So that’s what has been credited to audio.
- So 24 years ago, G-Dragon was 13 years old when My age is 13 years old has been released. In 2009, during a concert, he performed a live version by combining two other songs as a return to the nostalgic past – and now, in November last year, are they sued us? That live recording was not recorded separately at the copyright association, so no copyright entrances were generated. If they had some interest in that track, they would have had to solve it directly with the company. Doesn’t it seem obvious for anyone else than presenting this cause immediately after his successful return last year is too calculated?
If confirmed, the case could marry a significant legal challenge for one of the most high profile of K-Pop and one of its most influential producers.
