At 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards that was held on 18 July in Insheon, the actor IM Si-Wan delivered an opening to be done that had both fans and celebrities in points. The transmission on KBS 2TV opened not with formal speeches but with a theatrical show led by the versatile star itself.
Housed by Jun Hyun-Moo and Yoona, the award ceremony began with a nod to the event of last year, in which IM-Wan won the best actor for his role in “Boyhood”. At the time, he jokingly promised, “If I have another possibility, I will gladly return and dance.” This year he kept that promise.
IM Si-Wan began his performance referring to the quote and joke above, “You really have to be careful about what you say in the acceptance speeches, otherwise you may end up dancing for me like me.” So, he launched himself into a music number, walking between the candidate’s seats and the greeting stars such as Choo Sung-Hoon, Park Byung-Eun, Lee Soo-Ji and others.
When he reached Lee Byung-Hun, who played by his side in “Squid Game”, IM-Wan pretended to be shocked, exclaimed, “Oh! Are we … the same?” At that moment, the siren * Squid Game * Bullò, the dancers appeared in costume and Si-Wan turned into a competitor of the show, which indicated a surreal K-pop medley.
With the joy of the crowd, the performance presented snappets of iconic K-Pop songs such as “Man has ni” of U-Kiss, the success of the early 2000s of Milk (a nod to the actress Seo Hyun-Jin), “Genie” by Girls Generation and finally Ze: to “Aftermath”, which reports IM Si-Wan to his idols. Youona has even joined the choreography “Genie”, adding to the nostalgia.
Just when the audience thought it was finished, IM-Wan turned the spotlight on nothing that Lee Byung-Hun, showing a vintage clip that danced in a past transmission. The actor, visibly agitated, buried his face in his hands, laughing at the return to the past.

IM Si-Wan closed the exhilarating scene by imitating Lee Byung-Hun’s campaign in the video, before ending his performance with the message, “Pay attention to your acceptance speeches.”
After the stage, Jun Hyun-Moo said “”This was easily the most legendary opening in the history of the prize. It would not be an exaggeration to call him a man’s show. “
