It was his last project.
During the recent press preview of the film The cryptocurrency mandirector Hyung Hae Ri I got very emotional while talking about the actor Song Jae Rim.
The film tells the story of the cryptocurrency collapse that left the world in an immense financial crisis after 50 trillion KRW (about $34.3 billion) simply evaporated. The cryptocurrency man was the final work of Song Jae Rim, who played the male lead, Yang Do Hyun.
During the press preview, director Hyung was asked about Song Jae Rim, which left her emotionally overwhelmed. She started crying and had to take a moment to compose herself.
Hyung then spoke about why Song was his choice for the role, explaining that the character had to have a “unreadable” face, and chose the actor for that particular reason. But Song also proved to be extremely knowledgeable about cryptocurrency, making him tailor-made for the role. “The moment I saw him, I thought, ‘He is Yang Do Hyun,'” – Hyung emphasized.
Recalling their time working together, Hyung Hae Ri said they had many in-depth conversations during filming and she often chimed in with ideas. He added that at first impression he wasn’t the best, but deep down he was a “friendly and fun person.”
I miss him so much. It’s a real shame. It would have been great if he could be here with us today.
