Jisoo’s upcoming zombie drama starring Park Jeong Min has everyone interested in the photo teasers of the show, but in the newly released trailer, netizens have turned their attention to Jisoo’s acting skills.

On January 7, the first trailer of Newtopia has been uploaded, pouring hype on the spectators who are patiently waiting for the show. The trailer begins with Young Joo (played by Jisoo) asking for some time away from her soldier boyfriend Jae Yoon (played by Park Jung Min).

The trailer then goes on to present the zombie-infested Seoul with a comedic flavor and the couple’s attempts to reunite.

Despite the trailer’s intention to excite the audience, the video trended in an online forum, where netizens criticized Jisoo’s acting skills.

“Jisoo-yah, can you come back after you do some acting practice?” one commented.

“Seriously, what are they going to do about Jisoo’s acting?,” a second netizen shared. “I tried to bear it while watching it, but I immediately felt that Jisoo can’t act.”

“Aside from acting, can you fix your pronunciation and vocalization?” said another.

Others also mentioned how they hoped Jisoo would improve from her starring role Snow dropalso expressing concern about his next role in The omniscient reader’s point of view. However, some defended Jisoo, saying how unfair it was to judge her acting skills based on the trailer alone.

“I don’t think it’s fair to judge her by the five second clips they showed us, to be honest,” one fan shared. “I feel like people are jumping to conclusions and overreacting.”
