New JeansThe new Instagram account has been a hot topic since its launch, quickly becoming a direct line of communication between members and their fans.
Created after their announced departure from I LOVE ITthe account initially gained attention through posts shared by staff. The group confirmed it was their official platform through an Instagram story. Since then, they’ve used the account to share updates, photos and heartfelt messages with their fans.
NewJeans’ emotional message on their new Instagram account is gaining attention
However, @jeanzforfree recently found herself at the center of controversy due to her original bio.
Since their debut, NewJeans have been associated with five representative colored hearts: blue, pink, yellow, green and purple. Although it is common for K-Pop groups to adopt symbolic colors, fans of Red Velvet, another group that has been particularly under My Hee Jinin the past – pointed out that these colors were identical to those of Red Velvet.
The similarity had sparked discussion since the early days of NewJeans, but the issue resurfaced after the colorful hearts were included in the Instagram bio.
Red Velvet fans criticized the choice, arguing that Min Hee Jin should have selected different colors given her past association with Red Velvet. For their fans, these colors hold significant meaning, playing an important role in the group’s branding through comebacks, solo promotions and sponsorships.

On the other hand, NewJeans fans argue that others cannot accuse Min of “copying” from Red Velvet, considering that the group was also under his management for some time. However, it is unknown whether the brand’s representative color was part of its decisions.
