Jin Goo reveals she lived in a studio apartment with Lee Jung before marriage: ‘A hit song was born from drinks’

The story was shared in a video uploaded on July 3 to the Brewing Alcohol with Yoon Joomo YouTube channel. Titled “We have been friends for 23 years, but it seems like our first meeting (?) – Cheon Lok Dam and Jin Goo came to visit us!”the episode featured the two longtime friends visiting culinary researcher Yoon Nara.

Jin Goo and Lee Jung have known each other for 23 years. Their friendship began while filming the MBC sitcom Without stopping 5. Remembering those days, Jin Goo said, “We met while working Without stopping. I had already completed my military service, while he enlisted after the show ended. At the time we also lived together in a studio apartment.”

Yoon Nara then asked if this happened shortly after they both debuted. Lee Jung made his debut in 2002, a year before Jin Goo, who debuted in 2003. “I debuted first” Lee Jung explained. “We met as rookies Without stopping 5. Ironically, our season ended up being the final one, and the show ended after we joined.” Jin Goo jokingly added, Without stopping it was known as a stepping stone to the stars. Then we arrived and it was over,” eliciting laughter from everyone on set.

Jin Goo also shared a touching memory from the time they lived together. “One day, I was having a really hard time. I bought some soju and beer on the way home. Jung was sitting at the keyboard working on music. When he saw how much alcohol I had brought, he immediately knew something was wrong.”

“He even went back out to buy himself a drink,” Jin Goo continued. “He doesn’t normally sit with me while I’m drinking because he doesn’t handle alcohol very well. But that night we drank together, talked for hours and somehow a song came out of that conversation.”

Jin Goo then revealed the surprising result. “That song became Lee Jung’s famous track Sigh,” he said. “I must have sighed hundreds of times that night.” Lee Jung confirmed the story with a smile. “I think he actually sighed a hundred times,” he recalled. “The song was inspired by her story. The line, ‘I’m afraid that if I tell you I love you, we’ll end up saying goodbye,’ actually comes from something he said that night. He couldn’t confess because he was afraid she’d leave him.” The singer immediately clarified a detail, adding: “And just to be clear: that woman is not his current wife.”
