The name KickFlip refers to a high-level skateboarding trick, in which the rider flips their skateboard 360° along the axis that extends from the nose to the tail of the board.
Just as the makeup pushes the board in a new direction, the group’s name embodies their ambition to break free from conventional confines and make new strides in the industry.
JYP representative producer Park Jin-young revealed the group’s debut plans through a video content released at the “2024 MAMA Awards US” held in Los Angeles on November 21 (local time). The video contained the phrase “We are working on the final preparations for KickFlip’s debut next year” and for the first time a silhouette photo of the seven members was revealed, sparking enthusiastic reactions.
KickFlip will kick off their debut album project at midnight on January 1st next year. Further details about the group will be released gradually through the official website and social media channels.
