According to a report from Ten Asia on the 15th, THE BOYZ signed an exclusive contract with One Hundred, officially leaving their previous agency, IST Entertainment.
The group reportedly made a unanimous decision to move together, demonstrating strong unity.
Starting in mid-December, THE BOYZ will begin operations under One Hundred. While there were rumors in the industry that THE BOYZ might join Big Planet Made Entertainment, discussions were actually ongoing with One Hundred.
Meanwhile, One Hundred is an entertainment company founded by MC Mong and Cha Ga-won, president of Piack Group. The agency manages labels that include artists such as Lee Seung-gi and Taemin under Big Planet Made, as well as EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin under INB100.
It is unclear whether the group will retain the name “THE BOYZ”, as the brand is currently owned by IST Entertainment. Discussions about transferring the rights to the group’s name are ongoing, and if an agreement cannot be reached, the group may be forced to promote itself under a new name.
Meanwhile, THE BOYZ recently returned to the spotlight with their ninth mini-album “Fuse” on October 28, following the release of their second full-length album “[PHANTASY] Pt.3: Love Letter” in March. According to Hanteo Chart, “Fuse” sold approximately 560,000 copies in its first week, marking THE BOYZ’s third half-million-selling album, along with their sixth mini-album “THRILL-ING” and second full-length album “[PHANTASY] Pt.3: Sixth Sense”.
Debuting in 2017, THE BOYZ gained a lot of attention after winning Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom” in 2020 with their high-quality performances, before further expanding their fandom with their appearance on “Kingdom.”
