On July 19, Japanese outlet Sponichi Annex reported that one of Japan’s biggest entertainment stars, Haruna Kawaguchi and Japan national soccer team captain Ko Itakura have been in a serious relationship for about a year and are having concrete discussions about marriage.
The report also states that the couple has already informed their family members and people close to them about their intention to get married. However, neither the actress, nor the footballer, nor their respective agencies have officially commented on the news.
Rumors of the relationship first surfaced on July 18, when Japanese weekly magazine Shukan Bunshun published photos and details of the alleged couple.
According to the publication, Itakura was seen driving Kawaguchi’s car while the two enjoyed a ride in central Tokyo. The report also stated that Kawaguchi had traveled to the Netherlands to visit Itakura while playing football there.
