Super Junior’s Shindong’s dramatic 37kg transformation sparks heated debate online

Super Junior’s Shindong is once again attracting major attention online after sharing new photos showing his dramatic 37kg weight loss, prompting mixed reactions from fans and netizens.

On June 22, Shindong uploaded several vacation photos to social media with the caption, “Food, coffee, sightseeing, lying!!!! I had a good rest and came back. The end~.”

According to SportsKhan, the singer recently traveled to Beijing, China with Super Junior member Eunhyuk and appeared relaxed while enjoying the local food and tourist spots.

However, it wasn’t the trip itself that quickly became the top topic online. Fans immediately focused on Shindong’s noticeably slimmer appearance. His sharper facial features, slimmer body and wider shoulder line stood out in the photos, giving him a very different image than before.

The idol’s weight loss journey had already become a hot topic before, after reports revealed that he had lost around 37kg.

Shindong amazes fans with a sharp new look

Shindong had previously said he tried using the anti-obesity drug Wegovy during his diet, but didn’t get the results he initially expected. He subsequently continued to lose weight by improving his eating habits and focusing on lifestyle changes.

Soon after the photos circulated online, reactions poured in across social media and online communities. Some fans praised the singer’s dedication and said he looked healthier and happier. Others were surprised by how different he looked, with several commenting saying they had never seen him so thin before.

However, not everyone reacted positively. Some netizens wondered why the weight-loss drugs were mentioned along with praise for her transformation. Some critics argued that people shouldn’t describe such changes as a “human triumph” if drugs played a role in the process, Koreaboo reported.

Others also commented on her appearance itself, with some saying that her transformation looked “unnatural”, while others predicted that she might regain weight in the future.

At the same time, many defended Shindong, pointing out that maintaining weight loss still requires discipline, regardless of whether medical support is involved or not.
