Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park has shared a surprising story about her love life, revealing that many of her past relationships were conducted almost entirely without meeting in person.
The singer made the candid confession during an appearance on the YouTube talk show Real man show on the Simply open your mouth channel, where she appeared alongside Brown Eyed Girls member JeA.
During the conversation, Sandara addressed previous relationships claiming that she had only dated younger men. “I guess it just happened that way,” he said.
Explaining the appeal of younger partners, he added that they often have an unexpected charm. “They can be cute, but they also have a masculine side that makes you feel protected.” However, she made it clear that she is not exclusively attracted to younger men. When asked if she simply didn’t like older men, Sandara responded: “Not at all. I’d like an older man too, as long as he has a playful, childish side. My ideal type was Eun Ji-won. I just never dated older men.”
Host Yong Jin pointed out that despite dating artists, Sandara has rarely been involved in public dating rumors. His response elicited laughter. “The reason I’ve never had dating scandals? You just don’t encounter them.”
When pressed further, she explained that she had very few conventional relationships. “I didn’t have many face-to-face relationships. I mostly had non-face-to-face relationships. We texted each other.” According to Sandara, these relationships rarely lasted more than a few months. “The boy usually couldn’t stand it. Even if he came to visit me, I wouldn’t go out.”
His unusual dating style even left the host wondering if those relationships counted as dating. Yong Jin joked, “From the guy’s point of view, can you call it a date?”
Sandara laughed and admitted that her perspective has changed over time. “So, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m dating someone.’ But looking back now, I realize that maybe I didn’t. However, she revealed that they would even celebrate relationship anniversaries. “We still say things like, ‘Today is our first day together.’”
When asked if she had ever dated someone without meeting them at all, Sandara jokingly replied, “Maybe… we could only see each other from afar.” Her unexpected confession quickly amused viewers, offering a humorous glimpse into the singer’s famously private personal life.
Throughout her career with 2NE1 and as a solo entertainer, Sandara Park has maintained an exceptionally low-profile personal life. Unlike many celebrities who become the subject of dating rumors, she has largely kept her relationships out of the public eye.
