On May 13, a Japanese netizen shared an encounter with Ryu Jun Yeol at the Cannes Film Festival via social media. The individual introduced himself as someone who works for the Japanese film distribution company Elas Films and revealed, “I met actor Ryu Jun Yeol at the Cannes Film Festival.”
According to the post, Ryu Jun Yeol appeared to be in Cannes for film buyer-related commitments. Upon hearing that the individual had previously distributed Korean films, the actor would show interest and ask what films he had worked on.
The poster explained: “I felt a little uncomfortable mentioning the title of the film because it was a film starring Han So Hee, and there had been reports of dating involving the two in the past.”
However, once the title Heavy snow was mentioned, Ryu Jun Yeol reportedly laughed and replied, “Of course I know Han So Hee’s movie.”
The netizen later described the interaction as “really fun,” emphasizing the relaxed and cheerful atmosphere of the conversation.
The photos shared along with the story also show Ryu Jun Yeol wearing a green jacket while taking a selfie with the netizen on the streets of Cannes.
Meanwhile, Ryu Jun Yeol had previously ended his public long-term relationship with Hyeri before later becoming embroiled in dating rumors with Han So Hee.
At the time, the controversy intensified as online speculation about a possible “transit report” quickly spread. Both parties denied the allegations, but shortly after officially acknowledging their relationship, the couple announced their split about two weeks later.
In the end the two actors also withdrew from the project Portraits of illusiona drama in which they had reportedly considered appearing together.
Ryu Jun Yeol is currently preparing for the release of upcoming Netflix series, including Mousetrap AND Hinterland.
