Ravi shares a new update after completing his military service following the draft evasion case

On May 1, Ravi posted several photos of himself on social media. In the images it looked like he was working inside a room. She didn’t add any caption to the post, but fans responded with supportive comments. The update attracted attention because it came after Ravi publicly apologized in March and revealed he had completed his remaining term of service.

Ravi apologized after completing his service

On March 27 Ravi wrote: “Hi, I’m Ravi. It’s been a long time since I last greeted you.” He explained that he had been serving as a social worker since October 2022, but his service was terminated due to a trial related to a violation of the Military Service Law. According to Ravi, he later followed the Military Manpower Administration’s decision and completed the remainder of his service before being discharged on December 13, 2025.

In his apology, he reflected on his actions, saying: “As I went through this process, I was deeply ashamed of myself for asking for understanding while using my personal situation and environment as excuses when I should have been looking back at myself and holding myself accountable.”

He added, “I have realized that a cowardly choice can hurt and harm others. I apologize once again to those who have been hurt by my wrong actions and will continue to learn and discipline myself so that I can live as a better person.”

Ravi convicted of violating the Military Service Act

According to prosecutors, Ravi was indicted without detention on charges of conspiring with a military service intermediary to pretend to have epilepsy, obtain a false diagnosis and attempt to avoid military service.

Investigators said Ravi was given an “epilepsy scenario” by the broker, acted as if he had fainted and underwent hospital tests. Although a doctor said the symptoms could not be confirmed, Ravi would continue to require medication and get an opinion for drug treatment. After Ravi submitted a medical certificate to the Military Manpower Administration in 2021 suggesting suspected epilepsy, the broker reportedly sent him a message saying: “Well, you are exempt from military service.”

Ravi admitted all charges during his first trial. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 1 year in prison, suspended for 2 years, plus 120 hours of community service. The court said the crime was serious because Ravi had carefully planned the attempt with the middleman despite having no symptoms of epilepsy. However, it also found that he had been a first-time offender, had admitted the offending, had shown remorse and seemed likely to fulfill his military duty after being reassessed.

Ravi chose not to appeal the first sentence, but prosecutors appealed, arguing that the sentence was too light. The prosecution had previously asked for a 2-year prison sentence. The court of appeal then confirmed the original sentence of 1 year of imprisonment, suspended for 2 years.
