Park Yoo Chun’s legal battle with her former agency continues despite recent claims from her Japanese agency and her legal representative that her lawsuits in South Korea had been resolved.
On July 11, former agency Logbook released a statement disputing those claims, saying that the dispute over Park Yoo Chun’s exclusive contract and management rights is not over. The agency explained that a previous court ruling had only decided that the matter should be handled through arbitration, not that the contract dispute had been resolved.
“The controversy over the exclusive contract with Park Yoo Chun is not over,” Logbook said.
According to AllKPop, the agency added that the ruling was “not a judgment on the validity of the exclusive contract or ownership of exclusive management rights.” Logbook emphasized that arbitration is just a process to resolve disagreement.
“The court’s decision that the dispute should be resolved through arbitration does not mean that the dispute is over; it simply determined the procedure and jurisdiction to resolve the dispute,” the agency said.
The former agency also said that the matter regarding Park Yoo Chun’s alleged unauthorized departure and management rights remains unresolved. Logbook warned that it may take further legal action, including possible claims related to defamation and obstruction of business.
Park Yoo Chun shares the message
The agency also announced plans to seek disciplinary action from the Korean Bar Association against Park’s legal representative Yoo Chun, accusing him of disseminating what it described as inaccurate information through a press release.
Previously, Park Yoo Chun’s Japanese agency announced on July 1 that her long-standing legal matters in South Korea had been completed. The agency said its tax matters were also handled through an installment payment plan with the National Fiscal Service.
Park Yoo Chun’s legal representative also said that a lawsuit filed by a former agency seeking damages for breach of exclusive contractual obligations ended in a final dismissal ruling. The representative added that related criminal cases were also closed without prosecution.
Separately, Park Yoo Chun recently shared a message after settling another legal dispute involving a 500 million won damages lawsuit, The Chosun reported.
She wrote on social media: “This moment is truly precious and I never want to lose it again. Not people or time.”
The lawsuit involved management company LoudFuntogether, which had sought damages after a contractual dispute over Park Yoo Chun’s exclusive management rights.
The case ended after both parties dropped their lawsuits, removing Park Yoo Chun’s obligation to pay the 500 million won in damages and delayed interest.
