Lee Do Hyun is reportedly preparing for a possible new challenge as he has been offered the lead role in the upcoming action film “Destroyer of Destruction” (literal title). The news has attracted attention as the actor may take on a darker and more intense character after completing his military service.
On June 22, Korean media MyDaily reported that Lee Do Hyun was considered for the male lead role in the series.
According to Soompi, following the news, his agency YH Entertainment confirmed the casting discussion, saying, “It is true that he has received an offer for the project.”
“Destroyer of Destruction” is described as a large-scale action drama about an elite hitman who spent ten years involved in organized crime. The story follows his unexpected transfer to a police witness protection unit, where he begins protecting victims using anything but ordinary methods.
Lee Do Hyun watches the return to action
If Lee Do Hyun accepts the role, he will play the character of an ace assassin who once made a name for himself in the criminal world. After a major turning point in his life, the character chooses to defend others rather than continue his previous path, creating a story full of action and personal change.
The drama is already generating interest thanks to its production team. Shin Kyung Soo, the director behind popular series including “The First Responders,” “Six Flying Dragons” and “The Nokdu Flower,” will helm the project, PinkVilla reported.
His experience with dramatic, character-driven stories has raised expectations for the upcoming series.
For Lee Do Hyun, the possible role marks another step in his growing career after returning from military service. The actor recently completed filming his first project after his leave, the Netflix series “Grand Galaxy Hotel.” He is also reportedly in talks to appear in the Korean adaptation of the Chinese romance film “Viva La Vida.”
Since finishing his homework, Lee Do Hyun has continued to receive attention for his upcoming projects.
