The judges noted that both the advertiser and Kim Soo Hyun suffered losses due to the controversy over the allegations made by Kim Se Ui, making it difficult to hold either party solely responsible.
While the plaintiff still faces separate civil lawsuits worth more than ₩10 billion, this is the first case in which an advertiser has substantially reduced its claim while the court encouraged an out-of-court settlement.
