BLACKPINK’s Jennie sparks heated debate over daring outfit at Madrid Music Festival

BLACKPINK member Jennie became the center of an online debate after her bold fashion choices during her headline performance at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Spain.

On July 9, Jennie took the stage as the first K-pop idol to headline the major music festival, delivering a nearly hour-long performance featuring songs from her solo era and several previously unreleased tracks. While many fans praised her stage presence and visuals, her outfit also sparked strong reactions online.

For the performance, Jennie wore several eye-catching looks, including a lilac and gold ensemble and a gold corset-style top paired with gold shorts and a chunky belt, Koreaboo reported.

The fashion choices quickly went viral, with fans celebrating her confidence and style. However, some online commenters criticized the amount of skin shown and made personal comments about her appearance. Some comments focused on her body rather than her performance, leading many fans to denounce what they described as unfair bodyshaming.
