BIG Naughty accuses Swings of abuse and exploitation, Swings responds with text message evidence

On April 16, BIG Naughty uploaded a track titled “The industry knows it”which contained a series of shocking claims aimed at Swings.

Through the text, he stated that:

  • The swings pushed artists into inappropriate relationships in exchange for career advancement
  • The company sold the related rights without the consent of the artists
  • The funds were used to repay debts and purchase luxury items
  • He was physically assaulted by Swings

The allegations quickly spread online, sparking intense debate among fans and the music industry at large.

In response, Swings went live to directly address the controversy, firmly denying the claims.

Regarding the financial allegations, he stated: “If I had stolen money, would artists like NO:EL and Yang Hong Won have renewed their contracts?”

He explained that:

  • The company has received approximately KRW 12 billion in advance payments
  • Some music rights were sold for around KRW 14 billion
  • A significant portion, between KRW 9 and 10 billion, was distributed to artists

Swings emphasized that these decisions were made to financially protect artists, not exploit them. Facing the assault charge, he offered a completely different version of events.

He claimed that CCTV footage exists, claiming that BIG Naughty was drunk and initiated physical contact first. “He hit me in the arm, I was pushed and I pushed back slightly. Yet he claims to be the victim,” Swings said.

He also revealed that the two had already reconciled after the incident, also releasing the text messages exchanged between them as evidence.

Despite his detailed explanations, Swings made it clear that he would not respond to every allegation: “I hate that you keep distorting the facts because of your ego… You’re only 24. Your future is bright, why do that?”

He concluded by stating that many of the remaining claims were false and not worth addressing individually.

The situation has now become a classic “battle of truth”, with both sides presenting starkly contrasting narratives.

With neither side showing signs of backing down, fans and industry observers are watching closely to see if further evidence (such as CCTV footage) will be released, other artists will come forward, or the dispute will escalate further.

For now, the controversy highlights ongoing tensions within the Korean hip-hop industry, particularly surrounding artist management, transparency and power dynamics.
