aespa’s Lee Young Ji and Ningning donate 40 million won after drinking a game penalty, touching fans

On May 1st the YouTube channel “Nothing very prepared” posted a video titled “[SUB] The evil woman of the continent [Nothing Much Prepared] EP.36.”

In this episode, Lee Young Ji invited aespa’s Ningning as the first guest of the fourth season. While chatting over drinks, the two suggested playing a drinking game and began a round of word chains.

After finishing the first round and before starting the second, Lee Young Ji said, “Ning, do you like donating? I like donating,” and proposed, “Let’s make the underdog donate generously” transform punishment into an act of charity.

Ningning said he would donate 20 million won, and Lee Young Ji agreed, starting the game.

The result: Lee Young Ji lost after failing to continue from the word “zodiac of horses”. Realizing her loss a moment later, she laughed in surprise, saying: “So does that mean I have to donate 20 million won?”

Two weeks after filming, Lee Young Ji appeared in front of the camera holding a certificate and revealed: “You have to keep your word, so I made the donation” adding, “The filming location is my grandmother’s hometown, so I donated 20 million won to an elderly care center in Yangcheon District.” His generous act impressed the viewers.

He added, “Some may misunderstand, but I’m not someone who spends 20 million won in a single drinking session. I did it because it’s for a good cause. It’s like donating 40,000 won when I earn 50,000 won.”

At the end of the video, it was also revealed that Ningning, the winner of the word chain game, donated 20 million won to the Korean Red Cross. His voluntary donation, following Lee Young Ji’s penalty donation, added warmth to the story.

Netizens reacted enthusiastically to their generosity, commenting: “These women are amazing. Not 1 million or 10 million, but directly 20 million won,” AND “Giving together, what incredible loyalty.”
