Recently, it was reported that ex TVXQ member Kim Junsu he was blackmailed by a AfreecaTV female streamer who extorted a large amount of money from him.
With this, his agency, The Isle of Palmsreleased an official statement regarding his position.
“Hi, we are on Palm Tree Island. First, we would like to explain our position regarding our artist, Kim Junsu.
As was recently reported, streamer A threatened to release recorded audio files of Kim Junsu for illegal purposes. The streamer further stated, “Although Kim Junsu has done nothing wrong, a celebrity’s image can be damaged by just one false article.” Kim Junsu can’t appear on TV, so he won’t be able to recover his image. However, he has nothing to lose.’
Streamer A continued to threaten Kim Junsu due to his celebrity status and took advantage of the public’s attention. Although they knew that Kim Junsu had done nothing wrong, they continued to abuse his celebrity position and did not stop.
We want to inform you that Kim Junsu is the victim. Kim Junsu also revealed that there are many other victims of streamer A’s threats and extortion, which is why he decided to take legal action.
It is not easy to provide a complete and detailed explanation as the case is still in the trial phase. We will issue an additional statement as soon as the process is complete.
