Following The Boyz Sunwoo’s terrifying encounter with a sasaeng, IST Entertainment has announced the measures that will be taken to address this alarming issue.
On November 14th, Sunwoo’s label belatedly revealed that the idol became the victim of an unfortunate assault incident that occurred on the 9th while he was on his way to their dorm.
According to the official statement released on The Boyz website, the idol, who had just finished his program, had returned to their accommodation when he was suddenly attacked by a sasaeng who was hiding on the emergency stairs as he opened the front door .
Sensing the danger, Sunwoo immediately notified the company staff and fortunately the sasaeng was caught and handed over to the police. The attacker is currently under investigation on charges of home invasion and assault.

Sunwoo and the staff, who suffered numerous beatings as the sasaengs tried to escape, also visited the hospital for tests and other necessary treatment to ensure their health and stability.
In the long statement released by IST, it was later revealed that these stalkers were able to follow Sunwoo, the Boyz in general, after attaching a vehicle tracker to one of the cars used by the artist, parked in front of the company.
There was also an incident where these sasaeng intentionally messed up their cars and spiked their tires as well as carrying out many illegal activities (e.g., following their vehicles, unauthorized visits to places related to artists’ privacy , etc.) which caused mental and physical difficulties for the Boys, their families and acquaintances.
As a result, IST Entertainment announced that it would improve security by adding CCTV cameras and take legal action against these acts without leniency, and stated:
“Our company is responding with a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal acts, including invasions of privacy, and we will take clear legal action accordingly.
Since acts infringing artist’s rights are excessive, we regularly collect evidence and review materials through our legal representatives. We wish to inform you once again that there will be no leniency or settlement during this process.”
