While Onew and Taemin both left SM in March this year, SHINee Minho spoke about why he decided to continue his 17-year loyalty to the label.
On November 11, the male icon, who just released his first solo album “CALL BACK” on the 4th, appeared as a guest on KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show”.
Here, Minho discussed his contribution to SM Entertainment and explained why he renewed his exclusive contract with the company for the third time.
Drawing on SHINee’s influence and power reflected within the label, the “FIREWORKS” singer revealed:
“We can say that SHINee also built the 3rd and 4th floors (of the SM Entertainment building).”
He also confirmed that he receives shares from SM gifted by the label to all its artists. As for why he signed another contract with SM alongside Key, Minho denied that he was offered better terms, but that it was rather his personal decision based on trust.
The K-pop legend explained:
“I renewed the contract with the company. It hasn’t been long since the last time. More than focusing on good conditions, it’s more about trust. I have been together with the company since my debut and, at times, I have I think they know me better than I do, so I put my trust in them as we work together.”

In April, Minho and Key both announced that they would remain under SM and decided to both work as solo artists. On the other hand, their leader Onew signed with Griffin, same with Taemin starting over under Big Planet Made Entertainment to pursue their respective individual careers.
On November 30th and December 1st, Minho will hold his first solo concert in South Korea, “MEAN: OF MY FIRST – 2024 MINHO CONCERT” which will be held at Korea University Hwajeong Tiger Dome.
Despite their different paths, the four members confirmed to Shawols (fandom) that they will continue to work as SHINee.
