On November 9, Jennie appeared in a video for Rowing, where she was interviewed about cold diving. Cold immersion is a recovery technique typically used by athletes to help their body recover from activity, but it can have other benefits as well.

During the video, Jennie is shown taking a dip in the cold while wearing biker shorts and a sports bra.

In a forum post titled “I feel very close to Jennie after seeing her side profile,” a netizen captured a screenshot of Jennie while she was in front of the bathtub, showing her from the side. The commenter appeared to comment negatively on Jennie’s body in the photo, showing the idol’s slightly protruding belly.

The image is taken from the moment in the video where Jennie inhaled, something commenters pointed out against the seemingly malicious post. Others pointed out that women’s stomachs usually protrude after eating or relaxing due to the internal organs.

  • “I watched the video and he was breathing before he went into the freezing water. Capturing the moment his stomach inflated with air as he breathed and using it against him is so malicious.
  • “For those who criticize female idols for having ‘average’ faces or bodies, why don’t you try debuting yourself? Why are you sitting at home, taking weird screenshots and leaving hateful comments?”
  • “Criticizing idols based on their faces or bodies is so pointless… sigh.”
  • “It’s hard to look good from that perspective, and maybe Jennie’s stomach was just bloated that day. Whatever the reason, it looks more realistic in that shot, but why attack the original poster so much? I’m a huge Jennie fan. This type of screenshot doesn’t make Jennie any less cute, doesn’t insult her figure, and doesn’t hurt her star power at all.”
